With the Mega Rig Pirates Ship, living rooms, backyards, and bathtubs all become places pirate adventures. The different ship components are made from durable plastic, which holds up to playtime on land or water. Built with Styrofoam inside, the base of each ship will float, and with built-in yellow wheels, can also roll along the ground. Smaller pieces, like the treasure chests, have rounded snap bottoms that easily and firmly connect to other building components.

The pirate-ship set also comes with two pirate figures -- a captain and a crew member, a harpoon launcher, and a giant purple squid complete with suction tentacles.

Unlike some building toys, the Mega Rig Pirate Ship makes it easy for kids to jump right into playtime. My 4 year old boy loved this boat. He takes it apart and puts it back together over and over. He enjoys stacking the sails. He likes that it rolls and he can push it on the tile.

Love Frustration-Free Packaging for Gift Giving- Silly Pirates!

Saw some reviews of one star on this toy becuase they didn't think FFP is for gift giving? Kids aren't as impressed by flashy packaging as they are with open and play- right now!! There aren't fifty ties and plastic bubbles that cut your fingers- no hassle, no mess, and better for the environment. Plus- the brown box adds to the mystery for the younger ones. My God son lit up when that brown box was opened and.... he could play with it right away instead of waiting for 4 adults to huddle around twisty ties for thirty minutes- using skills only expert shoplifters must possess to get the silly thing out of the packaging. Thumbs up for Frustration Free Packaging!!

Also- love the MATCHBOX series with modular hookups. I'm pretty sure we'll see a Pirate Space Ship once they figure out the sets could go together. Yay for creativity!

So much fun and versitile too!

My son got this for his 4th birthday. As soon as it was out of the package, he started playing and hasn't really stopped since. It is great for in the tub and out too. The octopus's tenticles come off, which is tons of fun for him. His does have some problems getting the pieces snapped back together, but I think with practice it will get easier. Definately recommend this. He also got another Matchbox little pirate set with the shark. I recommend the two together-makes for a lot of imaginative play.

A quick warning about Frustration Free packaging!

The toy's fine but Frustration Free means that it shows up in a brown cardboard box with no outside illustration at all. (Excepting the large "Mattel" logo on the outside.) If you're going to take it out and set it up you'll be fine but if you're expecting something they will get excited about as soon as they rip off the wrapping paper you may want the regular retail package.

I prefer the frustration free since that way I got to try it out in the bathtub first. The octopus is cool!

I planned on putting this under the tree set up with a bow on it and tell my son that santa plays with some of the toys so the amazon pacjage is great...The package comes in a mattel box with amazon stickers on it..DO NOT GET THIS PACKAGING IF YOU ARE WRAPPING
